The name Guinea (geographically assigned to much of the west coast of Africa, south of the Sahara Desert and north of the Gulf of Guinea), probably derives from the term Susu which means “woman”. It could also derive from the Berber Akal n-Iguinawen, “land of the blacks”. Surprising country for the variety of landscapes. From its mountains three rivers flow to the Ocean: Niger, Senegal and Gambia. Land of warriors and nomadic shepherds, forged to cross valleys and mountains.
